Abia State Government has reaffirmed its decision to ensure the take off of the Domestic Export Warehouse Umuahia located along Ohiya Umuahia axis of Enugu Port Harcourt Expressway.

The Commissioner for Trade, Commerce and Industry, Dr. Chimezie Ukaegbu stated this in a meeting with stakeholders and the Managing Director, Paul Bon Nigeria Limited, the Project consultant.
The Commissioner represented by the Director Incharge in the Ministry, Dr. Onuoha Udeala said that the present administration is passionate in realizing the Domestic Export Warehouse which has been approved by the Nigeria Export Promotion Council to encourage prospective non oil exporters through the use of the facility.
He said that the warehouse which is first of it's kind in the Southeast when operational will ease the problems encountered in the process of exporting goods by exporters in the Southeast, assuring that Government will put in place necessary things needed in the Domestic Export Warehouse which is a landmark project to be commission to mark one hundred days in office of the Governor, Dr. Alex C. Otti
Also speaking, the State Coordinator, Nigeria Export Promotion Council, Mrs. Roseline Ekanem, said that the Domestic Export Warehouse has been granted license to take off and stressed the need for the State Government to support the Consultant to put required facilities in places for the commencement of activities at the facility.
In their separate speeches, the representatives of Customs, Shipers Council, All farmers Association, CBN, Aba Chambers of Commerce among others assured of their support for the take off of the Domestic Export Warehouse.
Contributing, the Managing Director of Paul Bon Nigeria Limited the Consultant for the Domestic Export Warehouse Eze Paul Uzuegbu commended the State and Federal Government for their support in realizing the project, while appealing for continued support for the take off of the project.
In a vote of thanks, the Director of Commerce in the Ministry Mr. Udensi Nmecha noted that the project has numerous benefits to the State and will provide employment for the youth.
