The Dr. Alex C. Otti administration in the state shall set up structured, technology-driven framework to drive tax collection in the state to cut down revenue leakages arising from malpractices.

From enumeration of tax payers and revenue sources to collection, remittance and reconciliation, a technology-supported system shall be put in place to minimise interferences and "toll gates" that lead to stealing and misappropriation of tax revenue by a few privileged individuals.

Mr. Chimereze Okigbo, Governor Otti's Special Adviser on internally generated revenue (IGR) made the position of the government known this Monday in his interactions with major stakeholders in the IGR ecosystem in the state including the leadership of the state Internal Revenue Service, traders and motorists in Umuahia, Lokpanta Cattle Market and across other strategic locations during series of familiarisation visits.

Brace up Ndi Abia, your tax revenue henceforth shall be used to build critical infrastructure, pay salaries, provide social services including the rebuilding of the state's education and health systems.
