Abia State Government has directed the contractor handling the illegal structure at the Ekeoha Shopping Center to stop work immediately.

Addressing a mammoth crowd and traders who trooped out en masse to receive him at the Ekeoha Shopping Center Aba, the Abia State Deputy Governor, Engineer Ikechukwu Emetu notified them that his boss and State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, has directed the immediate dissolution of all existing market committees in Abia State and has also announced the suspension of all form of levies.

He reiterated that the present government would not tolerate those building shops in an unapproved place
Speaking also at Ariaria international market, the Abia Deputy Governor warned those who were still collecting illegal levies to desist from doing so or face the full wrath of Govt.
Some of the traders who spoke, Mr Innocent Chinedu and Mrs. Chinasa Onu thanked the government of Dr. Alex C. Otti for coming to their rescue and promised to give him all the necessary support and cooperation for him to succeed.

Some Market Executives and other touts were apprehended including the Chairman, Ariaria International Market, Chief Michael Chijioke Amaku.
