The Commissioner for Health, Dr Ngozi Okoronkwo, who stated this at the Ministry of health hall, during a meeting with Staff of the Ministry, noted that the Governor, Dr Alex C. Otti declared a state of emergency on health sector.

Dr Okoronkwo disclosed that government has started renovating the health facilities at Amachara, Cottage hospital, Abayi and Umunnato General Hospital and by the end of the month, they will be functional,
She opined that the meeting is aimed at ascertaining the number of workers particularly doctors, nurses and laboratory technicians working in the hospitals as government will not want to overwork the system or have any facility run down.
In his remarks, the Director in charge of the Ministry, Dr Rock Hemuka, advised the workers to move with the wind of change the state is experiencing and pointed out that the health sector needs total overhaul for effective service delivery.
Contributing, the Director of Adminsitration, Lady Joy Dike, reminded staff of the need to be committed to duty, obey constituted authority and be disciplined in all they do.
The interactive session featured awareness of non-communicable diseases by the Director Public Health, Dr BOK Okwali and focal Person in charge of Non- communicable Diseases, Mr. Uko Okorocha.
